#4--In what ways are human obedience and passive righteousness different? In what ways do we try to make them the same?

Human obedience is what man can do of his own strength. It is not pleasing to God and leads to despair or pride. Passive righteousness is God's gift to us. It is effective and gives God all the glory. I know that I give my kids the impression that human obedience is pleasing to God, because I want a quick, outward fix.

We've been equating them for a long time. I'm thankful to have this book to instruct me! While I have begun to understand these concepts for myself, I find it difficult to communicate them and make them real to little ones.
